Sunday 10th January 2021 – Shoal Bay Maria Island

It was a lovely morning with no wind and the sun was shining so Mark, Georgie & I took the dinghy to shore and walked across to Riedle Bay on the opposite side of the island.

Shoal Bay – Maria Island
The beach at Riedle Bay was scattered with dead Blue bottle jelly fish (Portuguese Man O War)
Insect tracks – Riedle Bay

We made the most of the calm conditions and took Lucy for a paddle on the SUP. Lucy’s balance is getting better and she is more manageable when sitting down in front of you while you paddle. At one stage she got a bit excited and stood up when her back legs slid off the side of the SUP. Mark did well to maintain his balance and helped Lucy back on the SUP.

We departed Maria Island at 09:30 on a calm sea with 10 knots of wind for Fortescue Bay arriving in Canoe Bay at 15:00.

Lucy the sea dog!
