We took advantage of the good weather and got the washing completed. The twin tub that we purchased 12 months ago has been a great investment along with the water maker that Mark picked up for $100. We spent $2,000 on parts and now it’s working as good as new! When we planned the trip we wanted to be as self-sufficient as possible (apart from groceries and fuel).
With a northerly wind freshening we moved back across to Stewarts Bay.
The afternoon exercise included a visit to a local lady who sold fresh vegetables that she had grown in her back yard. There was a huge selection so we were able to stock up for the next leg of our journey. We then took a stroll to Port Arthur Historical Settlement and had a look around the site.
Georgie was interested to hear about the history of the convicts at Port Arthur and the terrible massacre that took place at the Broad Arrow Cafe in April 1996. She could not believe that somebody could do such a thing to other people.
The fish at Port Arthur have devoured over 50% of our lures – the prime culprit being the Leatherjackets. and Wrasse. Despite this Mark, Georgie, and Lucy are continuing to have success with their fishing.
