We lifted anchor at 0515 and motored out of Spain Bay navigating between the rocks that scattered across the entrance to the bay. It was still dark, but Mark had plotted our course as we entered the bay the previous day so we could follow the same track out. There was a variable wind and the sea/swell was 3-4 metres. It was an uneventful (which is a good thing!) passage and we were lucky to see a total of 4 other boats for the 90 nautical mile journey.
We passed through Hells Gate (the entrance to Macquarie Harbour at 1900 that evening with an incoming tide and anchored in Pine Cove just outside of Strahan for the evening.
